Preserving History
I've been archiving my blog pages today using the "Save Page As..." feature of Firebird. I think that IE offers a similar feature where the HTML is saved, along with copies of all of the graphics.
Saving the graphics is escpecially important to me since I am a Bandwidth Bandit - I link to pictures outside my web site.
I noticed 4 or 5 pictures that were no longer available, and the ALT text was showing instead.
I'll be archiving on a monthly basis from now on. I may also go back and try to find new but similar graphics for the old posts.

Mr. Miyagi
Say what you will about The Next Karate Kid (Karate Kid IV). It's entire plot can be guessed from the first movies. Hillary Swank may be a great actress now, but her petulant, brooding teen needs some work. The paramilitary organization in the high school led by the tough guy teacher that likes to beat up students is a little hard to fit into my suspension of disbelief place.
But, when those monks bring out the birthday cake and sing "Happy Birthday, Julie-san", I just ... sorry ... give me a minute...
