Four Years - A Long Time Ago

I was talking with a salesman the other day, and our conversation somehow wandered over to the subject of high school reunions. I've never been to one, but it seems that he goes every five years. Half of his graduating class attended the 25 year event, and each of the 16 there were asked to recount their favorite memory from high school.

I've been thinking about it for the last few days, and I can't think of one! Sure, I have good memories from that time, but they involve people or situations outside of school. I had friends from neighboring school systems, and we had lots of fun times, but high school was just my day job. (I still kind of treat my current job that way. I don't hang out with work friends outside the 9 to 5.)

Maybe my lack of memories keeps my interest in reunions low. I really have no urge to go have dinner with people I haven't seen since 1980.

Comments:
If the salesman's class only had 35-ish people in it, that might explain their closeness. I graduated from a small high school and would rather like to attend a reunion one of these days. I do wonder if the people I'd like to see will attend, which suggests that i really should expand my Christman card list a bit.
